No time for the new Boston teammates to bask in the glow of a 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes- the Penguins are waddling into town tomorrow night at 7:00 PM on NESN.

  • Highlights- a scary first period complete with a Rick Nash save AND goal along with a Riley Nash goal on a Tommy Wingels cartwheeling assist turned the tide in the final seconds of the first period. Wingels scored to tie, and it was Charlie McAvoy who sniped the OT winner. (Video, 8:48) NHL
  • Another slow start was turned around by some heroics from the new guys. (With video) Bruins Daily

  • Only Ty Anderson could find a silver lining in Bergeron’s injury. He had to dig pretty hard. WEEI
  • Welcome back to Boston, Brian Gionta. He saw a lot of familiar faces upon his arrival. Bonus- Brandon Carlo returned to the lineup last night. Boston Globe
  • All the right moves- Bruce Cassidy’s shuffling the lineup to cover Bergeron and his integration of Don Sweeney’s new acquisitions paid off. Boston Herald
  • Boston’s special teams play continues to be anything but. That may be okay in the regular season, but beware in the playoffs. The Hockey Writers
  • 3-3-5. The Bruins trail Toronto by 1 point, and the Bolts by 5. NHL
