Just the facts:

The Time: 7:30pm EST

The Place: Little Caesar’s Arena, Detroit, Michigan

Place to Watch: NESN, FOX Sports Detroit

Place to Listen: 98.5 The Sports Hub

Opposing SBNation Blog: Winging it in Motown

Players to Watch:

  • Winger Anthony Mantha is currently Detroit’s leading goal-scorer with 16 on the year.
  • Dylan Larkin is the point leader for the Wings, with only 8 goals, but a boggling 30 assists. Dude loves sharing the wealth so much he’s probably advocating for a minimum wage increase in midwestern states.
  • 13 of Mike Green’s 26 points came on the man-advantage. Gotta watch for 25 on the Power Play.
  • Petr Mrazek has a just-barely over .500 record and a .914 SV%. Does that mean the Wings will play him? NOPE! Wings are gonna ride Jimmy Howard until he either keels over or begs for amnesty.
  • Patrice Bergeron! He’s on an absolute tear recently, and is as dominant as ever.

Preview:

Turns out, things are pretty dire for Detroit’s flying tires.

Coming out of a 3-2 loss from Florida, all sorts of rumors regarding players like Mike Green, a team ownership and front office facing pink slips, All their veterans being disastrously bad and their youth having to drag them back from the basement of the NHL, it’s been a tough year in the self-proclaimed “Hockeytown”.

Granted, they are the definition of a .500 team, being almost .500 in their last 10, and are still at least a fast team with guys like Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou on-hand. There’s plenty of fight inside this team and the B’s must meet it equally.

Should be a fun game regardless, let’s see how this goes!
