What a week for the Bruins leading scorer, huh? He started it by scoring a hat trick versus Detroit, including the overtime winner that put him in sole possession of the Bruins all time OT game winners list. Not to be outdone, he followed that up with a game winning goal with 22 seconds left against Philadelphia.

Following his late game heroics against Philly, he scored 2 assists in a 7-4 blowout win against Chicago. He also caused a minor uproar after an awkward collision with Anthony Duclair that will cause Duclair to miss 1-2 weeks per the Blackhawks. As a result of his previous history, many expected him to face discipline but he escaped the wrath of Player Safety, this time.

Following the first Chicago game, Marchand was a surprise late scratch due to an “Upper Body Injury”. All told, he led the league in scoring for the week with 4 goals, 4 assists and 8 points in 3 games played. Marchand was joined by Patrik Laine (1st Star) and Evgeni Malkin (3rd Star). Pretty strong company for the elite winger.
