Highlights: Blue Jackets top Bruins in OT

Even with the bad, there’s a lot of good coming out of tonight’s game.

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets at Boston Bruins Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

1st period

Boone Jenner kicked off the Blue Jackets by scoring within the first 5 minutes. The assist came from none other than Thomas Vanek.

There were 4 penalties in the first period that amounted to nothing. Both Bruins penalties came from Kevan Miller. The first was high-sticking, and the second was enclosing the hand on the puck.

2nd Period

This is where the game got good. In case you didn’t hear, Ryan Donato scored his first NHL goal in his first NHL game.

To get the Garden even louder, Marchand decided to net a nasty backhand to give the Bruins the lead.

Penalties finally caught up to the Blue Jackets as Riley Nash continues his amazing season.

Shortly after the Nash powerplay goal, Sonny Milano puts one in the back of the net off of a pass from Ryan Murray.

3rd Period

Vanek scored his usual goal against the Bruins early in the third to tie the game up.

The Blue Jackets most dangerous player put them in the lead with a goal off of an offensive zone draw.

The Bruins managed to come right back as Donato got his second assist of the night on a Krejci goal.

Overtime

There’s not much to say about this overtime. Gonna be bitter for a little bit for sure about how this one ended.
