Brian Gionta scores his first goal as a Bruin

On a breakaway, no less...

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins at Boston Bruins Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Brian Gionta has done pretty well during his short time with the Bruins, chipping in with a few assists in his first few games in black and goal.

He got himself in the goal column toward the end of the first period tonight, beating Alex Lyon on the breakaway.

From Chris/@CrzyCanucklehed:

A great backcheck by Tommy Wingels, a great pass by Zdeno Chara and a great finish by Gionta.

Weird part of the goal: was that the biggest height disparity between a goal-scorer and assist-giver in NHL history? Chara is 15 inches taller than Gionta.

Anyways, 2-1 Bruins over the Flyers after one.
