Brad Marchand, one of Boston’s elite athletes, has written a piece for The Players Tribune titled “Built for Boston.” If you love him, or even if you hate him, you’ll want to give this a read.
"If you like me, you'll like this story. If you hate me, you'll love it."@Bmarch63 grew up being told he’d never make the @NHL.

Now he and the @NHLBruins are making another run at the #StanleyCup https://t.co/ssY5sCX73y
In his piece, he writes “I was meant to play for this city. I believe that.” That’s one of my favorite quotes because he knows what it means to be a Bostonian and has fully embraced it.
Never the best kid on his team? Well...he certainly is one of the best now.
“After two seasons in the AHL, I got called up to the Bruins for the entire 2010–2011 season, and my whole life changed. The way the city embraced me that year was incredible.”
That year, Marchand won NESN’s Seventh Player Award.
“I’ll never forget after we beat Vancouver in Game 7 to win the Cup, we flew back to Boston with the Cup, and as we stepped off the plane all the fans were lined up waiting for us, going crazy. One of the police officers came up to us and said, “The city is yours. Enjoy it.”
Brad Marchand will certainly never forget winning the Cup in 2011, and neither will Bruins fans. 2018; could this be their year too?
