Game notes

  • It’s Game 5, at home. This is the first chance the B’s have to advance to the second round since 2013. Expectations for this team before this season were far below this, not even making the postseason.
  • If the Bruins play like they did in the first two games of this series this should be a fun night. If the Bruins play like they did in the last two games of this series be prepared to be on the edge of your seat all night.
  • This is a given, but score first. Every team that has scored first in this series has won the game, so look for the team to come out firing.
  • Keep an eye out for Bruce Cassidy this morning and whether he says anything about Patrice Bergeron returning to the lineup after missing Game 4 with an upper body injury.
  • This is a big game for the Cassidy era. Your first playoff series win is impactful; this is a great chance to do it tonight and continue to show what this team is made of.
  • In 2013, with the point of the dagger at their throats, they ripped it out of Toronto’s hands and killed the beast. Tonight, it's the Bruins turn to point the dagger at the throats of the Maple Leafs. Finish this. Win and advance.
