Brandon Carlo is done for the season with a fractured ankle

The Bruins updated the young defenseman’s condition today.

The Boston Bruins issued an update on injured defenseman Brandon Carlo this afternoon, confirming what we all assumed: he’s done for the year.

From the team:

Brandon sustained a fracture to his left ankle and is scheduled to have the fracture repaired later this week by Dr. George Theodore of MGH. He will miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Expected recovery time is 3-4 months.

Rough news, but something we all expected, I think. Carlo should be back on skates shortly before training camp, so it’s possible that he misses the official kick-off to the new season.

However, with a month or so of rehab, he may be back in time to see the Bruins raise their Stanley Cup banner on Opening Night.

Get well soon, kid.
