NHL19, the latest installation in EA Sports’ long-running hockey franchise, comes out on September 14. In advance of the game’s release, EA has been slowly leaking player ratings.
Because it seems like everyone in the NHL is under the age of 25, this has led to kids who grew up playing the NHL series sharing their ratings on Twitter. 2018 is weird, man.
Thanks @EASPORTSNHL for the generous rating and for giving me sick flow. Can’t wait to play the game #NHL19Ratings pic.twitter.com/9dK5hB2r5L

That led to this exchange:
Rating should be higher bro! I’m for sure coming to a game this season! https://t.co/Am8H34Is6Z

DON’T YOU JUST LOVE WHEN ATHLETES FROM DIFFERENT SPORTS ARE FRIENDS????? Charlie McAvoy and Jayson Tatum should have a buddy cop show.
Anyways, EA released their Top 50 player ratings today, and three Bruins made the cut.
Patrice Bergeron was the highest Bruin on the list, checking in at number 18 with a 90 overall rating.

Up next for the B’s was a somewhat surprising one: Tuukka Rask, who checked in at #23, also with a 90 overall rating.

Rask is the 4th goalie on the list, behind Braden Holtby (12), Sergei Bobrovsky (11) and Carey Price (5).
The third Bruin on the list? Brad Marchand, everyone’s favorite player! Marchand snuck in at #35, with an overall rating of 88. Guys in Marchand’s neighborhood include Artemi Panarin, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Roman Josi.

Missing from the list? Yung Dave himself, David Pastrnak. Not exactly surprising, but Sky is still going to fight EA.
The top five on the list (with their overall rating): Connor McDavid (94), Sidney Crosby (93), Alexander Ovechkin (92), Drew Doughty (92) and Carey Price (92).
To me, the only surprise for the Bruins is Rask being that high. I think he’s good, but fourth-best in the league? Hey, I’ll take it.
