Losing 4-1 in a sloppy, miserable game to the Flyers is never a fun time. Punctuating it with losing your most point-productive defender? Just a greasy, poorly mixed, little-pulpy-bits-floating-on-the-surface, painful nightcap to an all around terrible end to the preseason.
Torey Krug left last night's preseason contest fairly late in the first, and finally the word came down: he was done for the night because of a lower body injury.
UPDATE: Torey Krug (lower body) will not return to tonight's game.

Which is never ideal, but hey, there's always hope, right?
..Well, what Joe McDonald saw wasn't encouraging at all.
Krug spotted in a walking boot.

That...might not be good.
While we dont know all the details and injuries can always look worse than they are, we do know that losing Krug would be a very bitter pill for the B's to swallow before Game One. Like him or not, a not-insignificant portion of the B's offense flows through his work on the man-advantage and from the point. If he's not going to be able to skate by Wednesday, then Bruce Cassidy has to make a very important decision with Vaakanainen (who is still on the roster), Moore, and Grzelcyk as to who Brandon Carlo's defense partner will be.
Of course, this could all just be cautionary, he'll be healed by Game 1, and we're getting worried for nothing. Which is fine, and waaaaay more preferable to agonizing over the top 4 d-pairs for the next three days.
Regardless, we wish Krug a speedy recovery.
