The Providence Bruins continued their recent hot stretch over the weekend, acquiring five out of six possible points to jump into sixth place in the Atlantic Division. Here is the recap of the weekend’s games.

Friday, January 11 vs. Hartford, 6-3 Win:

Trailing 2-0 after the first, whatever was said at intermission worked, as the P-Bruins stormed back in the second with four straight goals en route to a 6-3 victory over the Wolf Pack.

Peter Cehlarik scored 2:45 into the second, and was followed by Jordan Szwarz, Karson Kuhlman, and Anton Blidh before Peter Holland scored for Hartford. Mark McNeill scored in the third to put Providence up 5-3 before Chris Breen sealed it with an empty netter. Zane McIntyre made 15 saves on 18 shots.

Saturday, January 12 vs. Springfield, 4-3 Win:

If not for a late goal, the P-Bruins likely would have gone into overtime after blowing a three-goal lead against the Thunderbirds on Saturday. But, thanks to some late game heroics from newly acquired Paul Carey, they were able to sneak out of Springfield with two big points.

Cehlarik led the way with two goals and an assist, tying him with Gemel Smith for three points on the night. Trent Frederic scored the other goal for Providence and McIntyre made 19 saves on 22 shots.

Sunday, January 13 vs. Springfield, 3-2 Overtime Loss:

The P-Bruins saw their solid weekend come to a frustrating end on Sunday, as the Thunderbirds buried the game winner with one second left on the clock. Cameron Hughes and Smith scored the goals for Providence, while Dan Vladar made 38 saves on 41 shots.
