It's always a gamble putting a player on waivers, and this time, the Bruins lost.
Oilers claim forward Colby Cave off waivers. Former Oiler, Mark Lamb coached him in Swift Current. Never drafted. Blue collar, responsible player.

Chiarelli!!!!!!
Cave is a hard-working player, one that you hate to see leave the organization, especially for nothing in return.
Edmonton has been trying to make itself harder to play against up front for a while now, so the move makes sense for them. It's essentially a no-risk move for a struggling team.
It's tough to see the Bruins lose someone for nothing again, but it's the reality of building a roster in today's NHL.
The Bruins also announced the move they made that ultimately caused them to lose Cave: they recalled Peter Cehlarik from Providence. We'll get to that in another post.
Best of luck to Cave in Edmonton.
