Friday, January 4 vs. Lehigh Valley, 4-2 Win:

The P-Bruins jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first, with all three goals coming with under three minutes to go in the period. Trent Frederic scored his seventh of the year to make it 1-0 before Gemel Smith scored two goals in 21 seconds to expand Providence’s lead heading into the second.

The Phantoms scored twice in the middle frame to pull within one, but a goal from Joona Koppanen early in the third put a seal on the victory. Zane McIntyre made 20 saves on 22 shots in the win.

Saturday, January 5 vs. Springfield, 5-3 Loss:

The P-Bruins got off to a good start in Springfield, going up 1-0 just 2:03 into the game off Zach Senyshyn’s eleventh goal of the year. However, the Thunderbirds scored five straight goals and held off a third period comeback to earn the win.

Jordan Szwarz and Smith scored the other goals for Providence, while Dan Vladar made 34 saves on 39 shots in the defeat.
