Weekly women’s hockey wrap-up: October 14

A look at the weekend's action in local women's hockey.

Welcome back to our Weekly Women’s Hockey Wrap-up. While both Harvard and Boston College were off there was plenty of action.

Boston Pride (1-0-0) Standings: 1st (0 Points behind)

Last Week: W 4-2 v Buffalo Beauts (10/12), W 8-1v Buffalo Beauts (10/13)

Next Week: v Minnesota Whitecaps (10/19, 10/20)

The Pride are clearly one of the top teams in the NWHL after dominating a Buffalo team that gave them fits last year. The offense erupted for 12 goals this weekend as they opened their home slate. Next up is the defending champions who split their opening weekend.

Coming Week: v Merrimack (10/18), @ Vermont (10/20)

A weekend off left the Eagles holding on to the top spot in Hockey East. The Eagles look to hold on to their perch as they finish their season series against Merrimack and travel up to Vermont for a game.

The Terriers fell flat in their first full weekend of action. They only earned a single conference point in two games. They have a chance to get a pair important road wins and get back on track in Hockey East play.

The Crimson had their exhibition canceled so we have another week before seeing them live.

Last week: W 2-1 @ Syracuse (10/11), W 6-3 @ Syracuse (10/12)

Coming Week: @ Maine (10/18), v New Hampshire (10/20)

The Huskies were able to sweep the weekend despite having trouble with Syracuse. It took late game heroics in the first game and an offensive burst in the second game but the Huskies stayed undefeated. This weekend brings a trip to Maine before having their banner raising on Sunday.
