The Providence Bruins announced on Thursday that goalie Kyle Keyser had been recalled from the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators.
Why?
Providence Bruins goaltender Dan Vladar requries help leaving the ice at the end of the 2nd.

Yikes!
Dan Vladar had to leave the P-Bruins’ Wednesday night game against Laval with an injury. Per Mark Divver, Vladar injured his hamstring in the playoffs this past spring, so there’s a chance it’s a similar injury. Still, it doesn’t look good.
The injury will mean some AHL playing time for the 20-year-old Keyser, who played one game (in the playoffs) for the P-Bruins last season.
The Gladiators’ ECHL campaign actually starts tonight, so it’s kind of a tough time to lose a goalie to your higher affiliate. Still, development is more important than ECHL wins.
It’ll be interesting to see what Keyser can do with a few AHL starts. He put up impressive numbers in the OHL last season, and had some decent flashes in the preseason for the Bruins.
The P-Bruins have road games on back-to-back nights this weekend: Friday against Laval and Saturday against Bellville.
The odds are pretty good that Keyser makes his first regular season AHL start in one of those two.
