Just the Facts:

The Time: 9pm EST

The Place: Gila River Arena, Glendale, AZ

Place to Watch: newly fancy soap logo’d NESN, ESPN+

Place to Listen: 98.5 The Sports Hub

Know your Enemy:

  • Clayton Keller, Derek Stepan, and P H I L all lead the Coyotes in points. Because the team has scored one goal, and everyone mentioned had a hand in it.
  • Darcy Kuemper is your starter for the ‘Yotes, and had a .931 SV% in a loss against Anaheim on thursday.
  • Carl Soderberg is here! He plays for the Coyotes now!
  • Oliver Ekman-Larsson is always a scoring threat on the backend. Be careful of that swede.

Game Preview:

Game one in the books, now to the other 81!

Boston and Arizona have a lot in common with their first game: it was low scoring, both of their goalies looked good, new acquisitions got on the scoresheet, and there was a lot to like about the efforts!

...It’s just that the Coyotes were on the losing side.

All things considered, this should be a closer game than usual fairs against the Coyotes have been. Picking up Phil Kessel seems to make any team he’s on post-Toronto better, Carl Soderberg rounds out a historically challenged depth, Clayton Keller looks like he’s coming into his own as the real deal, and Darcy Kuemper was fantastic in game one. A good portion of their depth chart and stars aren’t on the injured reserve list, so this has the potential to be just as tight of a game as Thursday’s.

And hey! It’s Saturday night! Nothing’s better than a Saturday night road game...except maybe a Saturday night home game. Get some brews, put the kids on the Nintendo Switch for the evening, and enjoy this desert cruise!
