The Providence Bruins had just two games on the weekend, one on Saturday night and one on Sunday afternoon.
They won the Saturday affair, beating Bridgeport 4-1, before ending the weekend with a 2-1 loss to Hartford.
Saturday: 4-1 win over Bridgeport
The Bruins earned themselves a road win on Saturday night with a 4-goal outburst and 31 saves from Maxime Lagace.
The Bruins got goals from 4 different players: recently recalled Joona Koppanen, Brendan Gaunce, Alex Petrovic, and Jack Studnicka. Paul Carey chipped in with 2 assists as well.
The win was Lagace’s 6th of the young season. He’s been excellent overall, with a 6-1-1 record, a GAA of 2.00, and a save percentage of .935.
Sunday: 2-1 loss to Hartford
Unfortunately, the Bruins couldn’t complete the weekend sweep, falling to Hartford at home on Sunday. The Wolf Pack scored a goal in each of the first two periods, and while the Bruins clawed their way back in it with a goal in the third, it wasn’t enough.
Kyle Keyser took the loss, makings 23 saves. Studnicka scored the Bruins’ only goal.
