Weekly women’s hockey wrap-up: November 11

A look at the weekend's action in local women's hockey.

Boston College Athletics

It’s that time of the week, time to check in on the state of women’s hockey here in Boston.

Boston Pride (7-0-0) Standings: 1st (0 Points behind)

Last Week: No Games

Next Week: v Buffalo Beauts (11/16)

The NWHL is back now that the break for what was supposed to be Four Nations has ended. They get to play host to a Beauts team they have handled with a combined score of 12-3

Boston College (9-1-0, 8-1-0 HEA) SBN Poll: 6 (+1) HEA: 1st(0 Points behind)

Last week: L 2-5 @ Connecticut (11/9)

Coming Week: @ Harvard (11/12) @ Boston University (11/15)

The Eagles threw away a pair of HEA points in a very disappointing loss in Connecticut. They will now have two road games against their long time Beanpot Rivals this week. Both will shed some light on whether or not the Eagles plan to make a run for home ice.

Boston University (6-3-1, 3-3-1 HEA) SBN Poll: ARV (-1) HEA: 4th (10 Points behind)

Last week: W 2-1 @ Providence (11/9)

Coming Week: v Yale (11/12), v Boston College (11/15)

A win is a win and the Terriers won. It wasn’t pretty but the return of Jess Compher should spell good things on the lower portion of Comm Ave. They too will have a mid week tilt but will host a different Ivy League team in Yale before welcoming the Eagles to Walter Brown.

Harvard University (5-0-0, 5-0-0 ECAC, 4-0-0 Ivy) SBN Poll: 9 (+2) ECAC: 1st (0 Points behind) Ivy: 1st (0 Points behind)

Last Week: W 6-2 @ Princeton (11/8), W 3-2 OT @ Quinnipiac (11/9)

Next Week: v Boston College (11/12)

A huge win over Princeton puts them in great shape for both the Ivy and ECAC crowns. They still have Clarkson and Cornell to play but the start to this season is exactly what the Crimson needed. They have a single mid week game hosting Boston College which could tell us what Harvard really intends to do this season.

Northeastern University (8-1-0, 5-1-0 HEA) SBN Poll: 4 (-) HEA: 3rd (7 Points behind)

Last week: W 6-0 v Holy Cross (11/8)

Coming Week: v New Hampshire (11/15), @ New Hampshire (11/16)

The Huskies are the only team to not play on Tuesday but instead get New Hampshire for a pair of games. A sweep would be nice as it would allow them to continue gaining ground on the Eagles.

Record This Week: 4-1-0
