Weekly women’s hockey wrap-up: November 4

A look at the weekend's action in local women's hockey.

Jim Pierce/ Northeastern Athletics

It’s that time of the week, time to check in on the state of women’s hockey here in Boston.

Boston Pride (7-0-0) Standings: 1st (0 Points behind)

Last Week: No Games

Next Week: No Games

The NWHL is on a break and has another week off.

Boston College (9-0-1, 8-0-1 HEA) SBN Poll: 7 (-) HEA: 1st(0 Points behind)

Last week: W 5-2 v New Hampshire (11/1), W 5-2 v Providence (11/2)

Coming Week: @ Connecticut (11/9)

The Eagles didn’t let anything slip as they dominated to conference foes. They continue to control their destiny in conference play as they play a UConn team that should be an easy win.

Boston University (5-3-1, 2-3-1 HEA) SBN Poll: 10 (-1) HEA: T-4th (12 Points behind)

Last week: L 1-2 v Northeastern (11/1), L 0-2 @ Northeastern (11/2)

Coming Week: @ Providence (11/9)

The story of the weekend for the Terriers was the 37 blocked shots over two games. While they came away with no points they showed they are a team that should be feared. A trip to Providence could be a good rebound or further the spiral.

Harvard University (3-0-0, 3-0-0 ECAC, 1-0-0 Ivy) SBN Poll: ARV (-) ECAC: 1st (0 Points behind) Ivy: 1st (0 Points behind)

Last Week: W 4-1 v Brown (11/1), W 5-2 v Yale (11/2)

Next Week: @ Princeton (11/8), @ Quinnipiac (11/9)

Harvard is starting the season off on the right foot and dominating in Ivy league play which would be a welcome return from the Cambridge side of the Charles. Their biggest test yet will be a trip to Princeton which will tell us whether they are for real are not.

Northeastern University (7-1-0, 4-1-0 HEA) SBN Poll: 4 (-1) HEA: 3rd (9 Points behind)

Last week: W 2-1 @ Boston University (11/1), W 2-0 v Boston University (11/2)

Coming Week: v Holy Cross (11/8)

This weekend the Huskies did exactly what they needed to, sweep Boston University. It wasn’t pretty the whole time and they even had to come back on the road but the four conference points and the tiebreaker over BU will be important down the line. The next game is a home game against Holy Cross which should be a easy victory but the Huskies will be loathe to take the Crusaders lightly after last year.

Record This Week: 6-2-0
