The Bruins will open next season against the Nashville Predators in Prague

Hey, it worked out well last time...

NHL: Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

The NHL announced this afternoon that the Bruins will open next season with a game against the Nashville Predators in Prague, Czech Republic.

Welcome home, Czech Daves! Has to be a cool thing for David Pastrnak and David Krejci, though they might be slightly more knowledgeable about Ostrava than Prague, since they’re both from the eastern side of the country.

The date for the game isn't clear yet. However, the Bruins will have training camp in Germany and an exhibition game against Adler Mannheim.

Nashville will play an exhibition game in Switzerland, home country of Roman Josi and Yannick Weber.

If you remember, the Bruins kicked off the 2010-2011 season with a game in Prague. That season ended pretty well.

The move makes sense for the league, as Pastrnak is far and away the best Czech player in the NHL. Bringing him home should be a marketing home run.
