It’s that time of the week, time to check in on the state of women’s hockey here in Boston.
Boston Pride (11-0-0) Standings: 1st (0 Points behind)
• Last Week: W 8-3 @ Metropolitan Riveters (12/7)
• Next Week: No Games
Another week another win for the Pride. In their first road game in two months the Pride took care of the Riveters for the fifth time this season. They will have a week off before traveling to Buffalo.
Boston College (11-6-2, 10-5-1 HEA) SBN Poll: 9 (-1) HEA: 2nd (1 Point behind)
• Last week: L 0-6 @ Boston University (12/6), L 1-2 v Boston University (12/7)
• Coming Week: No Games
The Eagles are battling some major injuries and have come crashing down after a promising start. They only have two wins in their last nine and have lost their lead in Hockey East and fallen deeply in the polls. The Eagles are done for the semester and have time to throw everything they can into getting back on track for the second half.
Boston University (12-4-1, 7-4-1 HEA) SBN Poll: 8 (+1) HEA: T-3rd (7 Points behind)
• Last week: W 6-0 v Boston College (12/6), W 2-1 @ Boston College (12/7)
• Coming Week: No Games
It’s clear that Jesse Compher makes a huge difference for the Terriers as they have only one loss since she returned, a come from ahead loss to the Boston College team they beat twice this weekend.
Harvard University (7-4-0, 7-0-0 ECAC, 6-0-0 Ivy) SBN Poll: 10 (-1) ECAC: 3rd(2 Points behind) Ivy: 1st (0 Points behind)
• Last week: W 4-2 @ Yale (12/6), W 3-2 OT @ Brown (12/7)
• Coming Week: No Games
The Crimson are not doing well, after coming out of the gates on fire and getting some national attention they have been very down to earth, losing every out of conference game and being taken to overtime by Brown. They still control their destiny in the ECAC and Ivy but next months meeting with Cornell will be huge.
Northeastern University (14-2-0, 11-2-0 HEA) SBN Poll: 4 (-1) HEA: 1st (0 Points behind)
• Last week: W 7-0 @ Holy Cross (12/4)
• Coming Week: No Games
While the Huskies took care of business against Holy Cross once again, these games did them no favors. The weakness of the Crusaders tanked the Huskies strength of schedule and dropped them heavily in the computer rankings..
Record This Week: 6-2-0
Of note we will be taking the rest of December off as all four college teams are done until around New Years Eve. Over the coming weeks we will be taking a look at how the first half went for each team and what to look forward to the rest of the season.
