The Bruins announced this afternoon that there will be a change to the lineup tomorrow - a single change, but a big one.
Zdeno Chara will miss tomorrow’s game due to an earlier injury: the broken jaw he suffered during June’s Stanley Cup Final.
Per the team, the jaw procedure was scheduled, and is termed a “follow-up.” My guess would be that the follow-up procedure is something that will need a couple of days to heal, and Chara and the team will use Monday and the holiday break to get it taken care of.
If you include tomorrow as an off-day for Chara, he’ll have 4 full days before the Bruins’ next game against Buffalo.
Ideally, it’s not something nagging, but is something that can be taken care of now and be fine for the future.
No one has been called up from Providence as of Sunday evening, so I’d expect John Moore to draw back in in some fashion.
