Jacob Slavin gets Carolina on the board in the second period...or does he? Nah, the puck actually went through the side of the net. WEIRD. Still scoreless!
Late in the third, Danton Heinen starts the play with some great pressure on Jake Gardiner, then Charlie Coyle tips home a Brad Marchand pass to make it 1-0 Bruins.
Just over a minute later, David Krejci gets his stick on a Charlie McAvoy shot and tips it past James Reimer to make it 2-0 Bruins.
And that was it! 2 goals was all it took, and the Bruins send Carolina out of town with a loss.
Of note in this game:
- It was the 8th-straight win for the Bruins.
- It was the 12th-straight game with a point for the Bruins.
- Jaroslav Halak made 24 saves for a shutout in his 500th NHL game.
- David Krejci’s goal was the 200th of his NHL career.
NOT BAD, FOLKS.
The Bruins are back at it on Thursday when Chicago comes to town, and both Patrice Bergeron and John Moore may be available for that one.
