The Bruins announced this morning that defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.
He sustained the injury last week on the hit you see above from TJ Oshie of the Washington Capitals.
It was originally floated that McAvoy would be fine following the hit, but when he missed the first game after, you knew something was up.
In response, Jeremy Lauzon has been recalled from Providence. Lauzon hasn't played in the NHL this season, but did skate in 16 games for the B's last season.
As McAvoy hadn't played in the last couple of games, the recall isn't for him. Instead, as it's an emergency recall, it's likely in response to the possibility that Connor Clifton can't play tomorrow after he got hit with a shot last night.
We'll see! Mounting injuries on the blue line...not a great way to head into 2020.
