World Juniors 2020: Bruins Prospect John Beecher, Curtis Hall named to US preliminary roster

The young boys are suiting up for ol’ glory!

It’s soon-to-be World Juniors time, which means you’re gonna be seeing a lot of content from me specifically about one of my favorite tournaments of the year: The international “get mad at teenagers” tournament! This time in the Czech Republic!

And today, the US National team announced their preliminary roster, with Boston Bruins prospects John Beecher and Curtis Hall being selected!

Beecher at Michigan has 9 points (5 goals, 4 assists) in 16 games. Michigan isn’t exactly stellar this year, but he does lead the team overall in points, along with fellow US player Cam York. And of course, the year is still young. They can course correct.

Curtis Hall meanwhile is the leading goalscorer for the Yale Bulldogs, who are uh...also not good and get to share a division with Cornell and Clarkson. It’s looking increasingly likely that he’s gonna be the sole bright spot for them.

Now, this is the preliminary roster, so there’s a chance both, one, or neither could make it, but they have plenty of time, as USA’s GM stated that they’re gonna take their sweet time cutting guys, with all three goalies invited basically being the only locks. Canada meanwhile, has no B’s prospects on it, but will be hacking their roster down to size by the end of the week.

Talk about a difference in philosophy.

Good luck to Curtis and John as they hopefully make the US team, and go bring home gold!
