Know Your Enemy:
- The Kings are coming off of a miserable 4-3 Shootout loss over the Vancouver Canucks.
- LA’s leading point-getter is as usual, Anze Kopitar, with 42 points in 56 games. Your leading goalscorer for the Kings is also Kopitar, with 17 goals in the same amount of time.
- Power play goals are tied up between Dustin Brown and Drew Doughty, who are tied at 5. Power play points goes to Drew Doughty who has 17.
- Jonathan Quick is experiencing a hell of a regression, currently under .900 in SV%. On the other hand, the “backup” Jack Campbell has done pretty well for the otherwise desperate Kings. He’s rocking a .933 SV%, in spite of his less than stellar record.
LA is kinda bad. This is known.
What’s not guaranteed is how the B’s will be. They kinda let the Ducks run the show for a little bit and let Jaroslav Halak take control of the game. If you wanna look at this with the impression that Boston kinda let this be their cheat game, then it makes sense. LA will be no better or worse than the Ducks were since they happen to be old and bad at scoring. However, one thing the Kings are, is rested. While they did somehow lose to the Vancouver Canucks, they’ve had plenty of time to get ready for this game.
The Bruins had about eight hours of sleep tops. If the defensive and breakout sloppiness is a trend? This could be a rough game from the onset.
Of course, the only real way to know is to play it.
So! Get your coffee, get your nap in, and get ready for more back-to-back late start hockey!
