At long last, Lee Stempniak's limbo is over!
The veteran forward, who has been practicing with the Bruins regularly for what seems like an eternity, has signed a one-year deal with the team.
Per the Bruins, he's been assigned to Providence, likely until the trade deadline roster limit is lifted.
Stempniak signed a tryout agreement with the P-Bruins recently, and is now officially in the fold for the stretch run.
He had 10 points 19 games for the Bruins in 2016.
He's been hanging around the Bruins for months now, so it's good to see him rewarded with a deal.
He needs to clear waivers, but assuming he makes it through, don't be surprised to see him make some depth appearances with the big club down the stretch.
