The Providence Bruins extended their point streak to eleven games after earning four points over the weekend. Here is the recap of the weekend’s games.
Friday, February 1 vs. Charlotte, 2-1 Overtime Win:
The game was scoreless until the final minute of the second period, when Ryan Donato scored his sixth of the season with 15 seconds remaining. The P-Bruins held onto that lead until the final minute of the third, when Julien Gauthier evened the score with 27 seconds left to force overtime.
Cameron Hughes scored the game winner with ten seconds left in overtime to give the P-Bruins the victory. Scoring with under a minute left in a period was a recurring theme in this game. Zane McIntyre made 28 saves on 29 shots in the win.
Saturday, February 2 vs. Charlotte, 1-0 Overtime Win:
After a low scoring tilt against the Checkers on Friday, Saturday’s game was no different. The Checkers piled on 37 shots but Dan Vladar stood tall, stopping every shot before Gemel Smith scored the game winner in overtime, giving Providence its fifth straight win. Check out the OT goal below.
