Game Notes

  • A doubleheader for both teams means that there is likely to be a grinder of a game - players trying to slog through an extra night of effort without rest.
  • Lee Stempniak, patient for so many months, is getting some NHL-speed trial runs. The team signed him and have been testing his full-speed play. (Three minutes in the first period last night doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.)
  • Crosby has 12 points in his last five games. The ‘Kid’-turned-Man is still a world-class talent.
  • The Bruins have found creative ways to win lately, and in the second half of a back-to-back, the pressure is elevated. Fortunately, Pittsburgh is also coming off a game night.
