Lee Stempniak has been recalled from Providence

Here comes the veteran!

The veteran forward is coming back to the NHL!

The Bruins announced this morning that Lee Stempniak has been recalled from Providence on an emergency basis.

This means he can only play in the event of an injured player being unable to go. Karson Kuhlman was recalled on an emergency basis before Thursday's game, then was sent down yesterday.

Stempniak has 2 goals and 3 assists in 7 AHL games.

In all likelihood, this recall is covering for the injured Jake DeBrusk. The Bruins aren't sure if he'll be able to go, so they get to use the emergency provision.

It's hard not to be happy for Stempniak, who practiced with the Bruins for months without getting paid in the hopes of getting another chance to play in the NHL.

If he plays, where do you see him fitting in?
