Injury Report: Sean Kuraly and John Moore are getting better, Kevan Miller is likely out for a good portion of the first round

Two players are on the way, and one looks like...it’s probably gonna be awhile.

NHL: Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Don Sweeney and Bruce Cassidy met with the media today to discuss the playoffs, the lines, and of course, the injury list, which currently has three names on it: Sean Kuraly, John Moore, and Kevan Miller.

In regards to Moore (upper body injury) and Kuraly (hand); both practiced today, though in non-contact maroon sweaters. The expectation is that at some point during the first round, they will return to the lineup, though Moore is probably closer to ready than Kuraly is.

And then we get to the very unfun news that Kevan Miller’s lower body injury had some additional swelling that will probably take him out of the first round for quite a bit, if not entirely. Not helping matters are rumblings from various media peoples corroborating with each other that there’s significant doubt he’ll play at all. There’s considerable disagreement on what kind of injury it was (98.5 has used Patella dislocation, others ligament), but the point is this: yet again, a starting roster defenseman has, in all likelyhood, had his playoffs robbed from him by injury. What a rotten break.

We’ll try to keep you updated on their statuses as the weekend and the first round of the playoffs get underway.
