Game Notes
- The Bruins have won their last eight contests. The last team to accomplish that feat in the playoffs were the 2012 Los Angeles Kings, who went on to capture Lord Stanley’s Cup.
- Per NHL.com’s Tom Gulitti: “During Boston’s eight-game winning streak, Rask has stopped 238 of 249 shots for a 1.38 GAA and .956 save percentage”. Not bad at all.
- The Bruins controlled almost every facet of the game in their series opening win. The Bruins out-attempted the Blues by 11 at five-on-five play, yet that number ballooned to 19 when including all situations. The Bruins also limited St. Louis’ attempts from high-danger areas, with large quantities of their shots coming from the outside. If the Bruins want to continue to be successful, locking down the defensive zone is a priority.
Finally, let’s rewatch Torey Krug’s mauling of poor Robert Thomas. Please play this clip at my funeral.
