Report: Charlie McAvoy to have a hearing with the league

No surprise, really.

We kind of all figured this was coming:

McKenzie doesn't say when the hearing will be, but there should be a few days between now and the start of the next series.

I don't think there's any real surprise here. It should have been more than a minor, but the league appears to want to sort things out after rather than make the call in the moment (unless it's the Sharks vs. Golden Knights series, I guess).

There's precedent here: Joe Thornton received a minor for hitting Tomas Nosek in the head earlier this playoffs, and was then suspended one game after the fact.

My guess is McAvoy gets there same, considering he has no history.

This is all little consolation to Columbus fans, but that's the way it goes with the league, I guess.
