An integral part of your TD Garden experience has called it a career. Per reports from the Boston Globe, GoLocalProv, and Ty Anderson, Bruins PA announcer Jim Martin has retired.
Even if you didn’t know his name, you certainly knew Martin’s voice if you’ve attended a Bruins home game over the last couple decades.
This video is a decade old, but it’s the best example of Martin’s work I could find on YouTube:
Martin had plenty of recognizable twists on player names, particularly those of Tuukka Rask and Patrice Bergeron. He was a great part of the Garden atmosphere, and will definitely be missed.
With Rene Rancourt retiring, the B’s found a great replacement in Todd Angilly. Hopefully they’ll be able to do the same with Martin.
