Zdeno Chara is an elite athlete who speaks 183 languages and is generally excellent. One of his best qualities, however, is that he always makes time for the regular people.
Whether it’s a small business owner in the North End or a young fan in the stands at the Garden, Big Z always seems to take a few moments to chat or sign an autograph.
Case in point: tonight in Boston, Chara was out on Boylston Street, undoubtedly enjoying some free time before the grind of the season starts, when he noticed a fan calling out to him.
Instead of going on with his evening, Chara greeted the fan, gave him a hug, and even posed for a few pictures.

Nice guy, that Zdeno Chara.
Anyways, Chara was in town for the grand opening of Tom Brady’s new TB12 store on Boylston Street. If you’re a fan of all of the Boston sports teams (I know not all of you are, but...sorry), it’s always cool to see stars from different teams hanging out.
Chara and Brady have plenty in common too: both are fitness/nutrition freaks, and both continue to defy the odds by playing well into their mid-40’s. Chara is actually a few months older than Brady, but let’s hope both continue to play and play well.
Chara also found a local kid to bring to the event with him.
