Sky gave you a great look at everything that will be different when the Bruins kick off their home slate at TD Garden this season, and in that piece, he mentioned what’s sure to be one of the more divisive things: new black seats.
“New seat colors?!! The horror,” you think. Sure, but you know to some people, this is going to be a big deal.
We’d seen some renderings of what this new set-up was going to look like, but we’d yet to see detailed photos.
Today, we got a few different looks at the new interior, and it sure is something.
New look, who dis?

At first glance, I’m not sure I like it. Obviously most of that is just the standard “humans don’t like change” response, but there was something almost endearing about the borderline-garish gold seats.
More than a few people have passed along word that while these new seats look more padded and comfortable, they’re not all that different from the previous seats. A couple of people also said that the seats don’t feel any bigger/more spacious, which isn’t really surprising.
As was the case a few years back when the Garden painted the brick walls at the balcony a different color, these seats will likely take some getting used to. There’s definitely something sleek about the black theme, and the seats will definitely look better on TV during those “late-arriving crowd” games.
What’s your take on the new seats?
