Bruce Cassidy said last night that he wanted to get his roster down to just one group by Saturday, and he delivered today with the biggest round of cuts yet.
Per the team, Ryan Fitzgerald, Kyle Keyser, Joona Koppanen, Jeremy Lauzon, Zach Senyshyn, Pavel Shen, Oskar Steen, Urho Vaakanainen, and Robert Lantosi have all been sent to Providence.
Three other players were placed on waivers to be sent to Providence: Brendan Gaunce, Paul Carey, and Alex Petrovic.
The latter is notable, as it means that the Bruins have signed Petrovic; they announced that as well, giving him a 1 year, 2-way deal that's worth $700k in the NHL.
All told, that's a dozen cuts today. The only mild surprise in the bunch is Vaakanainen, as he looked like he might stick around to be an extra body on defense. Still, it's better for him to get regular ice time in the AHL.
We're just about there, folks!
