The Bruins announce the last round of big cuts, including Anders Bjork

No real shockers here though.

We're just about there!

The Bruins announced what should be their last real round of cuts today, with Opening Night just 3 days away.

Maxime Lagace, Anders Bjork, Trent Frederic, Cameron Hughes, and Jack Studnicka have all been assigned to Providence.

Peter Cehlarik was placed on waivers in order to be assigned to Providence earlier today.

According to the Bruins' website, the B's currently have 14 forwards (with Anton Blidh and Cehlarik removed), 8 defensemen (with Kevan Miller and John Moore removed), and 2 goalies (with Lagace removed) on the books.

That puts the team at 24 players (assuming Miller is on IR). If the team's going to get down to 23, someone else has to go.

My money would be on names like Jakub Zboril, Steven Kampfer, or Connor Clifton on the back end, or maybe one of Karson Kuhlman or Brett Ritchie up front.

We'll see!

Of the cuts made today, there aren't any real surprises. Bjork has had a good preseason, but would be better served getting up to speed on Providence anyways.
