We’re pretty much through the hockey-less part of the year, folks! The Buffalo rookie tournament is here. Captains’ practices are here. Training camp is right around the corner.
I don’t want to say we made it, but...I think we made it.
Congrats, everyone. I’m proud of each and every one of you.
Today’s Peter Cehlarik Fact
Peter Cehlarik was picked in the 3rd round of the 2013 NHL Draft, which was six drafts ago. Oddly enough, he’s also the most recent Bruins 3rd-round pick to play in the NHL.
The Bruins have traded their 3rd round picks a ton, but the lack of success is still pretty astounding. Since 2000, the Bruins have only had 5 3rd-round picks play an NHL game for them: Cehlarik (2013), Matt Grzelcyk (2012), Brad Marchand (2006), Mikko Lehtonen (2005, only played 2 games), and Sergei Zinovjev (2000).
5 in 19 years. NOT GREAT. But hey, a couple of those were home runs.
