Gustav Nyquist appeared to have opened the scoring just 17 seconds into the game, but the goal ended up getting taken off the board due to goalie interference. Still scoreless!
David Pastrnak gets his 30th on a laser on the power play. 1-0 Bruins.
Columbus gets a bit of puck luck, as Sonny Milano’s toss to the front of the net deflects off of Matt Grzelcyk’s skate and in. 1-1 tie.
(Note: This clip has a bit of a delay at the beginning of it. It might look like it’s frozen, but it’ll kick in.)
David Pastrnak gets caught reaching on Seth Jones, leading to a 2-on-1 the other way in OT. Columbus executes it perfectly, and Pierre-Luc Dubois wins it. 2-1 Columbus.
That’s all she wrote!
There’s really not a ton you can say at this point. To put it simply, the Bruins are finding ways to lose right now, be it through sloppy play, half-efforts, missed opportunities...the works.
It’s still not worth panicking over, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s a call-up or even a minor trade in the works. To say the team needs a “shake up” is extreme, but there’s clearly a little adjusting that needs to happen here.
Had it not been for that huge win over Washington, people would really be freaking out.
Happy 2020!
