Game notes

  • The Jets played in Toronto on Wednesday night, but I’m writing this before it ends. Did they win? ONLY YOU KNOW!
  • Connor Hellebuyck, he of UMass Lowell fame, started on Wednesday night in Toronto, so expect to see back-up Laurent Brossoit tonight.
  • Let’s see how many comments it takes for someone to bring up Kyle Connor!
  • Winnipeg has done fairly respectably thus far this season, considering they found themselves suddenly without arguably their best defenseman in Dustin Byfuglien. The big man may be nearing a return, which would be a big boost for the Jets.
  • Mathieu Perreault is on the Jets. He seems to always score against the Bruins, so...yeah.
  • I thought Patrik Laine was having, by his standards, a somewhat quiet start to the season. However, he’s on pace for 30 goals, which is exactly what he scored last season. He has dipped a bit since his sophomore campaign, when he scored 44.
  • Blake Wheeler! Still on the Jets, so I’m required to post this: the Blake Wheeler trade was 100% the correct trade when the Bruins made it.
  • For the Bruins, I wouldn’t expect many drastic changes from Tuesday night in Nashville. Joakim Nordstrom may be over his illness, but Bruce Cassidy could elect to let him rest another game and roll with the same units.
  • Connor Clifton may be ready, but there’s been no concrete update on his status.

See ya tonight!
