Monday! Another work week is upon us. Let’s all have fun out there.
A bit of news from the Bruins this weekend, as they signed mobile defenseman Matt Grzelcyk to a four-year contract.
The deal represents one check on the Bruins’ offseason to-do list, as RFA’s and UFA’s remain to be signed.
Also of note this weekend were Don Sweeney’s comments on the rest of free agency, as he seemed to indicate that the Bruins want to see if they can try to fill some of their holes from within.
A bold strategy. Is it a sign of trust in your farm system, or a sign of “don’t spend anymore money” from ownership?
Hard to say. Regardless, the comments don’t bode well if you were expecting a wild move in the coming day or two. Still, the Bruins may be working on a splash behind the scenes.
But if you have something big in the works, you generally don’t spend much time talking about addressing your roster shortcomings from within.
We’ll see!
Today’s highlight
I am not a fan of either West Ham or Tottenham, but a buzzer-beater goal in soccer kind of rules.
Today’s discussion topic
If a kid from Providence is ready to step in full time this season and make an impact, who is it going to be?
