I realized today that I forgot to commemorate the one-year anniversary of everyone’s favorite month: Slovaktober.

With our man Peter Cehlarik no longer with the organization, we unfortunately cannot celebrate Slovaktober this month.

Instead, let us end our week with some fun facts about Slovakia, courtesy of Slovakia.com!

• Namedays: Every day in our country has 1 or 2 names assigned. It’s even written in all our calendars! This means, when your nameday comes up, there’s a party, just like you’d have on your birthday.
• Lots of famous people have Slovakian parents or grandparents, including Jon Bon Jovi, Paul Newman, and Angelina Jolie.

May you celebrate Slovaktober with joy and admiration. While it may not be the same this year, we’ll always have the memories.
