Well folks, the 2020 NHL Draft is in the books!
It was......well, it was a bit of a slog. It started at 11:30 AM and it ran for approximately 343 hours, but it’s done.
The Bruins welcomed a whole bunch of new kids to the organization yesterday, and the collective response among fans appeared to be “meh.”
The Draft wasn’t horrible. It wasn’t great either.
When you don’t have a first-round pick, you’re not really expecting to draft anyone who is going to make an immediate impact. Instead, you’re stocking the shelves for the future.
In this case, the future appears to be several years from now, as the young men chosen yesterday all seem to be at the very least 4 or 5 years away from any sort of NHL impact.
Interestingly (or predictably, I guess), every player the Bruins drafted yesterday is American and is headed to NCAA hockey, whenever that resumes.
Do they Bruins have a type? It would certainly appear so.
Today’s highlight
Why this highlight? Because it rules and it came up on the home page when I went looking for one. Very complex process.
Today’s discussion topic
Your thoughts on the draft overall? Bruins included, but consider the whole league.
