Player Grade: C, but a solid one!
Look, I’ll level with ya:
Maybe it’s been the year, maybe it’s been the election, maybe it was the pandemic, but I sincerely don’t remember a major Par Lindholm “thing”. I don’t remember an especially great shift, or a great goal, or a good backcheck. And that’s unfair, because Par Lindholm did a pretty okay job this year, all things considered.
Lindholm was depth. Roughly 12 minutes a night for a little over half a season, and picked up some a trio of decent-looking goals along the way.
If you were asking for more from a player who’s sole goal in life was to be a contributing NHL player at this point in the game, I don’t know what to tell you.
Lindholm is the epitome of deeply, deeply unexciting but ultimately serviceable depth: works hard, has decent skating, has a good but not great shot...and if he does everything right, he ultimately fades out of your memory like the long-forgotten words to a song you liked but could never find. The most important things I remember about his play as a Bruin so far was that he had a goal called back in traditionally heartbreaking fashion, and...also his playoff highlight.
That was pretty dumb.
But...he was depth. And that was all he was expected to be. And for 40 games, plus six playoff contests, he did that to the best of his abilities.
I don’t have much to say here. He’s like this, and he’s probably gonna be like this for awhile.
I, for one, hope he has a much more fun 2020-21 season! I’d like to say something unambiguously positive or negative next time!
What’s your grade for Par Lindholm?

If you’re giving an F to a player you can barely remember you’re just a hater.
