Grading the 2019-2020 Bruins: The series begins today

Let us grade.

It is the boring part of the off-season, so you know what that means: player grades!

We try to do this every year, but like most other things in 2020, this series got a bit delayed. Fortunately, we’re at a point now where we can start to deploy these grades/player reviews, and you can start to disagree with them!

This year, we let each writer choose a series of players and issue his/her grade on that player’s performance. We did kick around the grades as a group, so it’s not like it was a grade dictatorship where one person had the final say.

Still, the writers were all given the latitude to grade how they felt was most appropriate, so...yeah. If you have beef with a grade, beef respectably.

This year, I think most of us focused more on regular season performance than anything else.

While that may seem a bit unfair, it felt equally unfair to torch a guy for not performing during Weird Bubble World when he did very well in the Before Times.

I’m hoping to publish one review per day until we get through all of them, and we’ll kick off the series this afternoon.

Can you pre-discuss? Probably not, but...pre-discuss.
