Morning Skate: Holiday week

A short week for most here in the United States.

Monday!

If you’re not a Monday person, but you are American, it’s a short week! You can do it.

If you’re not American, well...I still believe in you.

There’s not much new to report on the Bruins front. The B’s unveiled their new jerseys last week, and that’s about it. No news on Jake DeBrusk, no news on Zdeno Chara.

I was talking to a friend the other day and was struck by the difference between the NHL and NBA approaches to next season: the NBA already has a full plan in place with solid dates; the NHL has yet to announce a thing.

Given that the last NHL-related thing we heard was that the league wants the players to defer even more money, it’s hard not to be pessimistic about the prospects of the upcoming season.

Still, it’s early. Kind of. Let’s see what things look like in a week or two.

Also, Wolves play at 3 PM today on NBCSN. Tune in.

Today’s highlight

First NHL goal, shorthanded. NOT BAD.

I’m writing this as Home Alone 2 plays on TV, so...what’s the best Christmas movie?
