Bruins sign Jake DeBrusk to two-year contract with an annual @NHL cap hit of $3.675 million.@JDebrusk | #NHLBruins

DeBrusk has routinely been a solid performer on the B’s second line since joining the team in 2017, being in the team’s top 5 of goals, power play goals, and increasingly looking to be in the top 5 of Bruins point-getters of the last few years. Consistency has been an issue, but the sheer value of this contract can’t be overstated; it allows him to work through his demons of scoring, and then lets him possibly cash in later when contract concerns are a thing of the past. And as an added bonus, he’s an RFA at the end of it, with Arbitration! So the value just keeps coming!
This signing leaves the Bruins with actual and projected cap space about a tidy $3 million to do something with before the NHL announces any plans to get the season going.
