The NWHL has announced that the 2020-2021 seasoned will be condensed into a two week span covering January 23- February 5, 2021. All teams will play each other only once before a six team playoff to determine the Isobel Cup Champion. The games will be played in a closed bubble in Lake Placid, New York. Despite the reduced schedule all players will receive their full seasons salary.

Further details such as the finalized schedule and broadcast information will be given as the games approach.

There will be a strict testing protocol that will be developed by New York University Health, with the premise that as the landscape alters the protocol will match.

The games are a collaboration between the league, the State of New York and the Olympic Regional Development Authority of New York, and have not been made official but the State has given approval for the games to be played.
