Morning Skate: Long December

A new month looms.

FOLKS. It is the end of November. Tomorrow is December 1st. Weird, wild stuff.

Hopefully all of you Americans enjoyed your holiday, and everyone else enjoyed the end of their weeks.

It’s weird to think that tomorrow is December 1st. The NHL, by all accounts, still seems determined to start in January...yet we’ve heard absolutely nothing in terms of concrete detail.

There are rumblings that players expect to be called back to their team cities in the coming couple of weeks, but if you’re a player coming from out of state/overseas and have to quarantine for 14 days, you could leave today and still be stuck until December 13.

I suppose this is a long-winded way of saying that a January 1, 2021 start for the NHL is unrealistic at best, and completely absurd at worst.

Hopefully we get some actual plans in the coming week or so, because we’re running out of things to talk about.

We still have a few player ratings to get through, and I don’t have them queued up due to a busy weekend. Until then, discuss...anything else.
